Reading Programmes

Three programmes, each built around a different reading and discussion focus

Each of Verandi's programmes is structured around a specific theme — household money habits, long-horizon planning conversations, or Singapore's retirement framework — with content appropriate to adults who want to read carefully and discuss seriously.

Our Methodology

How every Verandi programme is run

Reading is sent to participants before each session — by post for most programmes. The expectation is that participants arrive having read the chapter, not encountering it for the first time. This shifts the session from presentation to conversation.

Sessions are held in a fixed reading room at The Octagon, Cecil Street. Each cohort runs to between eight and fourteen participants, and the same group attends every session in a series. This continuity allows discussion to develop across the programme rather than beginning from scratch at each meeting.

No advice is given, and no products or providers are referenced. Facilitators are briefed to keep discussion within educational scope. Questions that cross into regulated territory — specific investment decisions, personal tax matters — are redirected to licensed professionals.

1

Reading distributed in advance

Chapter or material sent by post before each session date.

2

Participants read independently

Each person reads at their own pace before arriving at the session.

3

Small cohort discussion

Facilitated group conversation on the reading, in a room of eight to fourteen.

4

Reflection circle (where included)

Optional follow-up session some weeks after the main series closes.

Four-Week Reading Series

Daily Money Habits Reading Series

A four-week reading series on the small daily habits of household financial management — the rhythm of weekly statement review, household ledger keeping, document filing, and the conversational habits that keep household money topics open. The series is reading-led; a chapter is sent in advance of each weekly session, and the cohort meets in a small group of twelve to discuss the reading. Educational in scope; no advice or product recommendations are offered.

  • Weekly chapter distributed by post before each session
  • Cohort of twelve participants, consistent across all four sessions
  • Printed habits workbook and weekly review card included
